It Takes Two (not to be confused with the Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston or the Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock song from 1966 and 1988 respectively of the same name) was a three-seasoned Australian version of the British reality series Just the Two of Us.

Premise[]

The show pairs celebrities with professional singers who each week compete against each other in a sing-off to impress a panel of judges and ultimately the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination.

Through both telephone and SMS voting viewers vote for the duo who they think should remain in the competition. Judges' scores are also taken into account and combined with the viewer votes when determining which duos stay and go each week.

Trivia[]

The series was originally going to be called Singing with the Stars partly because of the similarity in concept to Dancing with the Stars.

British Version[]

The original short-lived British version called Just the Two of Us (not to be confused with the hit 1981 Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers song of the same name) hosted by Vernon Kay and Tess Daly aired on BBC One for one season only from 2006 until 2007.
