Holey Moley is an Australian adaptation of the American reality competition show of the same name in which eight contestants play an extreme version of miniature golf.
Premise[]
Each regular episode sees eight contestants paired off against each other, tackle a series of miniature golf holes which contain various obstacles and distractions in a two round elimination tournament. The final three contestants (the winners from the second round, and the winner of a second round losers' playoff) then complete in a final round, with the winner of the episode winning a plaid jacket and golden putter. They proceed to a grand final where they will compete for a $100,000 grand prize.
Trivia[]
Rob Riggle was also the commentator of the original American version as well.
In October 2019, the network announced that it would be adapting the show for the Australian audience produced by Eureka Production. Initially slated for an August 2020 broadcast, the show started filming using an expended version of the US course in California but abandoned production in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show later restarted filming on a set built in Australia in October 2020 with a new broadcast date set for early 2021. Greg Norman stars as the resident golf pro alongside commentators Rob Riggle (reprising his role from the US version) and Matt Shivington along with host and sideline correspondent Sonia Kruger. the show premiered on 1 February 2021.
The set is intended to be reused for potential international adaptations from Germany, United Kingdom & France should international border restrictions allow starting in 2021.
