Gameplay[]

16 letters were called out one at a time, with contestants placing them somewhere into a 4x4 grid before the next one was called. At the end of the round, any 3-letter words which started in the leftmost column (and went across) or started in the topmost row (and went down) would score 5 points. Similarly, 4-letter words across or down would score 10 points. The highest scorer would win the round.

Each batch of 16 letters announced was actually part of a predefined "perfect game" grid where all four columns and all four rows made up legitimate 4-letter words. If any contestant managed to replicate this during their round, they won the $25/$50K grand prize.
